Paint Day at Lake Washington
Danette and Kenneth Middleton
graciously loaned us their home and grounds for the day. Iris, Agnes,
Billye, Melanie, and I worked with oils, watercolor, and pastels while
Danette gardened! Vicky and Lisa came by to take photos for future
paintings. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Winter On The Trace
New painting, "Winter On The Trace."
Take some time this evening to stop by the Municipal Art Gallery at 839 North State Street in Jackson, Mississippi. Sip a little wine, have a few hors d'oeuvres and look at some beautiful art. The occasion is the Mississippi Artists Guild member show. My painting, "Winter on the Trace" is only one of many paintings there for your viewing pleasure! The show will hang for all of March at the Jackson Municipal Art Gallery. It is closed on Mondays but open 9am - 5pm Tuesday - Saturday and 2pm - 5pm on Sundays.

Indian Bayou Festival
Took some pictures at the Indian Bayou Arts Festival, so here's a painting of some artisans selling their craft. The festival takes place in September across from the B.B. King
Museum and The Blue Biscuit along the
banks of Indian Bayou in Downtown
Indianola, Mississippi. The man in the red shirt is Lee Washington. He was selling his "Cotton Picking" metal sculptures, three of said pieces grace my home!
I was also a demonstration artist with the Delta Artists Association booth for those who passed by, had questions, and wanted to see an artist in action. I'm working on the painting posted here.

Blues paintings
Two paintings, "Summertime Blues" and "On the Blues Trail", are both framed and for sale at The Shoppe! The Shoppe is at 170 Walnut Street, Rolling Fork, MS, with hours Monday-Friday 10am - 4pm, and Saturdays 10am - 2pm. Both of these are SOLD!

Monthly Paint Day
The
Delta Artists Association had a great activity going on during the
monthly Paint Day. Kathy Smith and Ann Laird Jones led a mini-workshop in painting on clay with
under-glazes! For artists who paint but don't necessarily work with clay,
it gave us some laid-back, no-pressure exposure to a different medium.
It was great fun!

DAA Member Show 2012
It is a pleasure to recognize great talent in local artists. Here I am as President of the Delta Artists Association giving awards to fellow artists during the 2012 DAA Member Show. So much talent!
